Altron corporate news

ROB ABRAHAM APPOINTED CEO OF THE BYTES GROUP REPLACING DAVID REDSHAW
Friday, February 26, 2010

Altron today announced the retirement of David Redshaw, the Chief Executive Officer of Bytes Technology Group (Bytes), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Altron, effective 1 March 2010.  After 22 years of loyal and dedicated service to the Altron group in senior executive positions, David has decided to retire as CEO of Bytes, but will assume the chairmanship of the Bytes UK operations and will also continue to serve as a non-executive director on the Altron board.

Rob Abraham, Managing Director of Bytes Document Solutions, the largest operation within the Bytes group, has been appointed as the new CEO of Bytes Technology Group, taking over from David Redshaw on 1 March 2010.  Rob has been with the Altron group for the past 12 years. After serving in various leadership positions throughout the group, he was appointed MD of Bytes Document Solutions in 2001. Rob’s extensive experience and knowledge of the ICT industry in South Africa as well as the rest of Africa, makes him an ideal choice for this key position.  As part of his new responsibilities, Rob will join the Altron Executive Committee.

Commenting on the above restructuring, Robert Venter, Altron Chief Executive, said: “As a member of the Altron board and executive committee, David has played a significant role in the growth and success of Altron over the last two decades and we are indebted to him for his contribution. We are fortunate enough to have a manager of Rob’s calibre and experience to lead the Bytes group into the future.”
