POWERTECH TRANSFORMERS EXPANDS BEE SHAREHOLDING AND RESTRUCTURES TRANSFORMER BUSINESS

Powertech Transformers, a subsidiary of Powertech and the JSE listed Altron Group, has expanded its empowerment shareholding and restructured its transformer business. Power Matla, chaired by Solly Moloko, has taken a 20% equity in the combined Powertech Transformers and Desta Power Matla operations. An additional 5.1% equity for empowerment in Powertech Transformers is currently under consideration and once completed will enable the Powertech Transformers business to achieve full points on its equity ownership portion in terms of the dti Codes of Good Practice....read more
POWERTECH PROVIDES STAND-BY POWER FOR THREE GOLD FIELDS MINES

Powertech Energy Solutions (PES), a division of Strike Technologies in the Powertech group and a member of the Altron group of companies, has been commissioned by Gold Fields to provide stand-by power generating facilities to ensure the continued safe operating condition of three mines. The installation of the stand-by generators that supply approximately 10% of each of the mine’s power requirement are scheduled for completion by the end of February this year....read more
