Werner Kapp is a globally recognised leader in digital transformation and is passionate about technology's role in driving economic and social growth.
Before joining Altron, Werner was CEO of Dimension Data Middle East and Africa. During his 22 years there, he served in various roles, from leading high-performing regions to steering the growth ambitions of Dimension Data's parent company, NTT.
Altron is South Africa's original technology brand, and as group CEO, Werner passionately celebrates and drives the company's commitment to improving lives, growing businesses, and meeting the country's challenges.
Werner holds a law degree from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, a master's degree in business leadership from the Unisa School of Business and a global leadership development certification from the IMD Business School in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Having joined the Altron Board in June 2023, Carel Snyman brings a wealth of enterprise-level financial experience to the leadership team and is integral in helping Altron achieve its growth ambitions.
Carel is a qualified CA(SA) with over 20 years of financial experience which includes significant experience as a financial executive at Naspers, MultiChoice Africa and, most recently, as the Chief Financial Officer at Aztomix Proprietary Limited, a company he co-founded.
Holding a BCom in Accounting from the University of Cape Town and a BCom in Accounting Honours from the University of KwaZulu Natal, Carel is also a qualified chartered accountant.

Dr Bongani Andy Mabaso
Group Chief Technology Officer
Dr Bongani Andy Mabaso leads Altron's Group-wide technology function together with product design and innovation strategy.
Andy, a qualified engineer, was previously the Chief Executive Officer of the State Information Technology Agency. Before that, he was Chief Information Officer: Digital and Customer Journeys at Standard Bank (Corporate and Investment Banking).
He also spent over a decade at Transnet Engineering, where he worked as a senior engineer, a principal engineer responsible for software design, and finally, the executive research manager.
Key aspects of his role are artificial intelligence and data analytics, and expanding the Group's platform ecosystem.
Andy has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Cape Town, a Master of Philosophy from the University of Cape Town's Graduate School of Business, and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Pretoria.

Building purpose-driven challenger brands is not easy, but luckily, Marisa Jansen van Vuuren is no stranger to building brands that punch above their weight.
Marisa has 20 years of experience building brands in the business-to-business sector, including as Senior Vice President for Marketing and Demand at Dimension Data. In this role, she contributed significantly to the company’s growth objectives and established robust alignment with the group’s parent company, NTT.
Marisa has successfully led seven major global brand integration programmes and earned several marketing awards for her work on the Tour de France, Red Bull Basement and Connected Conservation.

Having first joined Altron as Group Executive for Shared Services, Collin Govender is known for his strategic and highly pragmatic approach to leadership and an innate ability to help others realise their full potential.
Instead of following a conventional route into enterprise IT, Collin entered the workforce with a Durban-based logistics company, where he was tasked with everything from running cables to building networks and developing code. He later moved to Johannesburg, where he spent 17 years at T-Systems, a German multinational IT services and consulting company.
Looking ahead, Collin is focused on connecting individuals with their purpose in the new digital environment – and finding ways to align purpose with sustainable business practices.

Hansie Schutte brings a wealth of legal expertise to Altron, with more than 30 years of corporate and commercial legal experience.
Hansie began his Altron career in 1991, where he held various positions at senior management and executive levels until 2001 when he left to pursue a career in legal counsel for the information and communication technology and mining industries.
But we just knew he’d be back. And in June 2011, he proved us right by rejoining Altech. When Altech was delisted, he moved to Altron’s legal department.
He is a past chairman of the Altron Young President’s Club, and in 2015, he won the Altron Chairman’s Distinguished Merit Award for his outstanding contribution to the company. Hansie holds a B Comm and an LLB and is an admitted advocate of the High Court of South Africa.

Compliance is an integral part of a successful business, and we are grateful to have someone as exceptional as Mbali Ngcobo to guide us.
Mbali is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa with many years of corporate law and company secretarial experience.
She has served in various capacities in listed companies, including Massmart, where she was the Legal Counsel-Company Secretarial Manager. Still, the lure of working for South Africa's original technology brand was too great, and we welcomed Mbali to the leadership team in November 2021.
Mbali holds a Bachelor of Law from the University of KwaZulu-Natal and a Masters in Corporate Law from the University of Pretoria.

Stewart is an independent non-executive director. He has extensive global experience in business and technology. He is the former Managing Director of Dell Computer Proprietary Limited (“Dell”) in South Africa as well as the former the vice president for Dell’s Enterprise Solutions business in the EMEA Emerging Markets. Prior to joining Dell, he spent 23 years at IBM in various positions, both locally and internationally. He also served on the advisory boards of the University of Stellenbosch Business School and Christel House South Africa.
Stewart serves on the boards of Old Mutual Limited, Interlock Events and ADvTech Group as an independent non-executive director. He is a member of the Technology and Innovation Advisory Board to the South African Revenue Services. Stewart’s passion lies in connecting and inspiring people to be their significant best.

Werner is a globally recognised leader in digital transformation and is known for championing employee experience as a critical element in serving customers in a digitised world.
He was previously the CEO of Dimension Data Middle East and Africa and was with the company for 22 years in which time he oversaw the globalisation ambitions of parent company NTT.
Werner started in the IT industry in the mid-1990s and joined Dimension Data in 2000, in its services division. As Dimension Data’s Regional Executive for the Eastern Cape, Western Cape, and Gauteng regions, he led the best performing regions for the company. He became Chief Operating Officer for Dimension Data with responsibility for crafting and executing the company’s Middle East and Africa strategy.
Over that time and in these roles, he gained vast experience in client, revenue and people management.
Werner is passionate about the impact technology can have on economic and social growth in South Africa and beyond. He enjoys working in diverse teams and cultures and strongly believes in corporate citizenship.

Grant has had extensive work experience with Deloitte spanning over 26 years, which includes positions of the Chief Executive, Chief Executive Human Capital Corporation, Head of Consulting and Advisory Services, Partner-in-charge (Pretoria office), National Head of Public Sector, and Partner.

Phumla has over 20 years of governance experience in Listed companies. She has also been involved in the implementation of business development strategies in line with organisational growth and transformation objectives. Dr Mnganga obtained her doctorate from Wits Business School and her MBL from Unisa. She is the founder and Managing Director of Lehumo Women’s Investment Holdings, a women-owned and managed investment holding company.
Phumla was the Chairperson of the University of KwaZulu-Natal and the past Chairperson of the Siyazisiza Trust, a large community trust that benefits rural women and vulnerable families, she has also served as Chairperson of Novus Holdings Limited. She currently serves as an independent non-executive director on the boards of directors of Adcorp Holdings Limited, and Exxaro Resources Limited.

Sharoda has 30+ years of operational, Board and C-suite level experience across the Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT), the Built Environment and Financial Services industries. She has a strong blend of industry and management consulting experience, having held leadership level positions in broadcasting, telecommunications and at management consultancy companies with extensive experience across South Africa, Sub-Sahara Africa and South-East Asia territories.
Sharoda is currently a Senior Specialist Advisor at FTI Delta. Prior to this, she was a Director at Deloitte Africa for seven years where she joined Deloitte to establish the TMT advisory services practice. Ms Rapeti was formerly the Vice President of the Engineering Council of South Africa and served as a Non-Executive Director on the boards of Mercantile Bank and Cartrack Holdings Limited.

Tapiwa is an experienced director with 15 years of corporate professional experience across the public and private markets, having spent several years in Goldman Sachs’ EMEA Investment Banking Division in London, executing cross-border M&A, ECM and DCM transactions across the EMEA region is currently an investment director at Value Capital Partners. He currently also serves on the board of Sun International Limited.

Alupheli is a founder and Managing Director of Kamva Investments (Pty) Ltd, a private markets investment holding company and M&A advisory business. She has held senior roles as a private markets investment professional at the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) and at formerly JSE-Listed African Phoenix Investment Limited where she was Principal until 2020. Alupheli began her career with EY Johannesburg where she completed her training to qualify as a CA(SA).

Grigoris has held several executive positions in international operations, most recently as Chief Commercial Officer at HealthTech disruptor Numan. Previously, he was Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Operating Officer at Teya (formerly SaltPay) for three years. Prior to Teya, he held senior positions at Workable, Persado and Upsteam SA.
Grigoris is a seasoned leader with established expertise in attracting later-stage venture and PE funding, with regular participation in board sessions and strategic decision making. Grigoris brings internationally driven experience and expertise in the FinTech, SaaS, MarTech industries – with exposure across developed and emerging markets.

Antony was a co-founder of Brait (1990) and building of Brait, South Africa’s premier private equity business. He transitioned to a non-executive position at Brait and exited by governance commitments in 2013. In 2016 he co-founded Value Capital Partners, and engaged shareholder investment management firm, which is currently an investor in Altron.
