Bytes Managed Solutions appoints new Retail, Petroleum and Hospitality Solutions Lead

Pictured above is Paul Grayling, Bytes Managed Solutions Retail, Petroleum and Hospitality Solutions lead. Bytes Managed Solutions, part of the Altron group of companies, is pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Grayling as the new Retail, Petroleum and Hospitality Solutions Lead.

This is part of the organisations ongoing focus on business development in current and new market sectors. Grayling is an experienced, effective and successful sales and marketing professional, with an excellent track record in both the selling and marketing of high value technology-based products for the international petroleum convenience, retail and hospitality market.  During the past 30 years, Paul has worked with many international oil companies and restaurant operators including the likes of Edacom Data Systems, ICL Retail Systems, Wincor Nixdorf and NCR (as well as Radiant Systems which was acquired by NCR).  Within all of these companies Grayling performed a sales/client leadership role and, before retiring from NCR last September, was the Managing Director for the Radiant and then NCR Hospitality business unit, responsible for the EMEA region. Paul has now settled in Cape Town with his wife.

Grayling had an interesting journey into salesafter leaving school he joined Barclays Bank in London, but six weeks later he signed for Tottenham Hotspur as a professional soccer player where he was part of the 1st Division Squad (old premier league) for two years.  Injury brought this career to an end and Grayling suddenly found himself running a modern petrol filling station with the first electronic POS interfaced to a pump control system. After six months he joined the POS company and the rest is historythree decades of selling POS solutions to the petroleum convenience and hospitality market.
