Press Release

Xerox will have the Lions backs in 2016

Bytes Document Solutions (BDS) and Xerox, have announced that they will be an additional sponsor for the Vodacom Super Rugby competition in 2016 and will take up a position on the back of the Emirates Lions jersey. Xerox is currently the title sponsor for the Currie Cup.

The new sponsorship comes in the wake of what was an exceptional 2015 for the Golden Lions Rugby Union (GLRU) going on to win the Currie Cup and being the first team in nearly twenty years to go unbeaten in a season. In 2016, the Lions will once again be expected to rise to the twin challenges of Super Rugby and the defence of their Currie Cup crown, and Xerox will literally have the teams backs, with the Xerox logo appearing on the rear of both the Super Rugby and Currie Cup jerseys. We are thrilled to continue our strong association with the union across both the Super Rugby and Currie Cup competitions, says Johan Basson, CEO of Bytes Document Solutions.

After the long affiliation between our two brands, I'd like to believe that we are more than mere sponsorship partners. Basson adds that the similarities between the two entities are what makes the alliance work so well, with both demonstrating a commitment to performance and a willingness to go the extra mile to achieve success. He explains that BDS and Xerox remain committed to sports sponsorship, as sport is seen not only as a great leveller in society, but also as an opportunity for the youngsters of today to craft a career. Sponsorship, in this way, offers the organisation the chance to genuinely make a difference in peoples lives. We are very pleased that Xerox has decided to once again put their on-going trust in the Lions brand, this time on our Super Rugby jersey, says Golden Lions CEO Rudolf Straeuli. The Xerox brand is an important cog in the Lions wheel without whom we will not be able to compete at the highest level.Looking at the team and the management that is in place, it is clear to me that the future for the GLRU is a bright one. We take enormous pride in our continuing sponsorship and look forward to a successful year with the GLRU, concludes Basson.
